Experience God's beauty in nature

On a cold wet dreary day where can the Invisible God be seen in creation? Romans 1 : 20: 'From the time the world was created people have seen the earth and sky and all that God made. They can clearly see his invisible qualities- his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse whatsoever for not knowing God'

You struggle to get out of bed. The floor is cold to touch. The car seat makes you shiver. Yet in nature God can still be seen. The verse above from Romans is specific. Its Gods invisible qualities that can be seen in creation and in particular his power and divine nature. So as we look at our world today and tonight gaze into the starry sky with its galaxies and wonders what should we discover about God?

1. He is a God of order. Creation was ordained in a specific order in Genesis. It is also maintained in balance and order.

2. He is a God of majesty. The heavens truly do declare the glory of our God. Yet it only points to something greater and better. A little girl out walking with her father looked up at the stars and said, ' If the outside of heaven is so beautiful what must the inside be like?'

3. He is a faithful God. We have day and night every 24 hours. The cold December we experience confirms that winter will become spring then summer and autumn. The seasons will not fail.

4. He is a Holy God. The earth bears testimony to the curse of sin. Adams sin brought thorns and thistles. The earth groans waiting for its deliverance when Christ returns.

5. He is a loving God. He cares for us and he provides for us.

And what is our response?

O Lord my God when I awesome wonder

Consider all the world thy hands hath made

I se the stars I hear the rolling thunder

Thy power throughout the universe displayed

Then sings my soul my Saviour God to Thee

How Great Thou art How great Thou art
